About the Role:
DLJ Spectacles Inc is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Optical Biller/Receptionist to join our team in Bay Shore, NY! Responsibilities:
- Process and submit medical and vision insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
- Greet and check in patients, manage appointment scheduling, and maintain a welcoming front desk
- Post payments, manage accounts receivable, and follow up on denied or unpaid claims
- Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and coordinate with optical staff
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Assist with optical dispensing paperwork and frame/lens order tracking as needed
Requirements:
- Prior experience in medical or optical billing
- Familiarity with vision insurance providers such as VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision, or Medicaid
- Strong front desk and customer service experience in a medical or optical setting
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) or practice management software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a busy office environment
